Hector Aguilar Armadillo Mexican Silver Necklace

Rich and timeless is this pre-1948 signed Hector Aguilar necklace which was designed by Valentin Vidaurreta. This piece is RARE and fantastic. Holding it in your hands gives you a strong sense of the early history of the Spratling Era of Mexican silver. The necklace is called the Armadillo necklace and sports a warm patina. The piece is 18 inches in wearable length and 93 grams heavy. The hallmarks are identical to Penny Morrills book, SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO page 12, example D. The black velvet neckband is newer and it should be due to the age of the necklace and the drop spans 7.75in. across and is 1 3/8in. at its widest point. The clasp is a decorative work of art as well and is a substantial 1.25in. long and 5/8in. wide. This design was allowed by Vidaurreta to continue to be made by Manuel Altamirano an employee of both Aguilar and Vidaurreta and those pieces are signed by Altamirano. This Armadillo necklace is early and is hallmarked by Hector Aguilar making it a superb, rare, treasure, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
