Marcel Boucher Vintage Mexican Silver Necklace

Administration: Nodes (Content)

Marcel Boucher trained and worked at Cartier in the Paris, France shop. He left for Taxco to be among some of the most creative thinkers in artistry at the time. He opened a shop in Taxco named Parisina and this necklace is one of his creations hallmarked in that manner. He was not in Taxco long so finding pieces of his marked Parisina are treasures. This piece is THE BEST necklace that I have seen from his work. It is a HUGE 1.5 inches wide and weighs 101 grams heavy. This botanical design is open backed repousse and has a tiny, thin gold wash on the back of the piece which was done to help the repousse slide off the carved mold when pressing the silver to the mold. I believe this is one of his earliest examples because of the techniques used. It is a comfortable 17 inches long. As far as condition goes, if it were any more perfect it would have to be new. All I can say is please look at all the pictures because it is MORE than fantastic, important, incredible, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
